Nina Danilova has been a dancer, artistic director, teacher, coach and choreographer. Ms Danilova is a graduate of the Vaganova Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. As a dancer, she toured with both the Kirov Ballet and the Moscow Ballet performing around the world. Before coming to the United States, she was the artistic director of the Pasquile Montalto Academy of Dance in Acri, Italy. She also was a member of the second annual Vaganova Institute Ballet Competition in St Petersburg, Russia, and was co-founder of Moscow Festival of Ballet. Ms Danilova was a contributing editor for the magazine Soviet Ballet and choreographic editor for the book “Thirty Variations from Classical Ballet Repertoire” published in Moscow and around the world. Ms Danilova naturally evolved into a new career, as a teacher and stager of classical ballets. Ms Danilova was invited to Bolshoi Theatre in Warsaw, Poland to teach and to stage for the company right after finishing University of the Art in Moscow. She was promoted to assistant to Professor Raisa Strutchkova. In 1991 Ms Danilova was invited to Pacific Northwest Ballet to teach their summer program where she remained on the school faculty until joining the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA) dance faculty in the fall of 1996 in Winston-Salem. Ms Danilova has staged several classical ballets for NCSA and around the United States including La Bayadere, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Paquita, and Le Corsair. She also created several original choreographic pieces by Camille Saint-Saens, Mozart, Shostakovich, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Glinka.
