Ms. Mary Lu Hensley
Originally from Dover, Delaware, Ms. Hensley began her dance career after graduating from Wesley College and University of Delaware. Her formal dance training was at the Academy of Dance in Wilmington, Delaware with Director James Jamison, where she studied ballet and Scottish during her high school years. Subsequently she attended the Farnsworth Studios in New York City. She performed with the Delaware Regional Ballet Company in the Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, Giselle, Coppelia and Swan Lake, and has performed at the DuPont Longwood Gardens amphitheatre in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Ms. Hensley has owned three studios in Delaware and Maryland where she taught ballet, jazz and tap. She has been a member and scholarship chairman of Dance Masters of America. Ms. Hensley is currently a Kingsport Ballet board member, as well as a teacher in the school.
